The Columbia Sports Business Club was originally established in the spring of 2011 as an organization to educate and assist those interested in the sports industry. The club additionally intends to promote discussions about aspects of the industry including media, business, and statistics/analysis. We are Columbia’s undergraduate representative in the Ivy Sports Collaborative.
As the newest and final member of the Ivy Sports Collaborative, the club explores all aspects of the sports industry (such as media, operations, management, marketing and analytics), through speaker presentations, trips around the city, and professional networking events. Past events include a trip to the CBS studios for an inside look at production of The NFL Today, a discussion with the VP of Partnership Strategy at Madison Square Garden and trips to the Ivy Sports Symposium.
The organization collaborates with Columbia’s Sports Management Masters program and the fellow clubs at each other Ivy League school. Recently the club has been advised by Jared Schoenfeld, former director of corporate hospitality at MSG and a current employee at Creative Artists Agency.
